Where to Get Your to-go Cocktails in NYC and Brooklyn

The dine-in restaurants have closed but there are many restaurants offering to go cocktails to passersby. You may have heard the State Liquor Authority has relaxed liquor laws to allow restaurants and bars to add cocktails to their offerings (provided they also offer food) if they’ve pivoted toward to-go and and delivery. If you live in the NYC area and are interested in this new trending concept of grab and go cocktails, see the list below that we’ve put together to help make your afternoon walks a lot more fun.

Dante

Delicious homey spot tucked away in West Village near Washington Square park. There were a ton of people waiting in line (6 feet apart) on Sunday to get their aperol spritz’s, pesto paninis and negronis. Highly recommend stopping by to support and see what the neighborhood is all about. It’s a gorgeous walk too.

Numero 28

Really cute spot on 2nd avenue that offers pizzas, pastas and delicious margaritas and flavored vodka sodas. The staff is always so friendly and they play music for people waiting to pick up in line. A cute spot on the way to the Lower East Side.

Dudley’s

We love Dudley’s. It always has the best staff serving you and I’ve personally hit up Dudley’s 3 times since this whole “to go cocktail” became a thing / legal. They have the best truffle fries and chicken to go. I personally can’t stop going in for the lavender tequila El Diablo drinks. Also the bartender gave out free shots to my friends because it was one of our birthdays. So yes, highly recommend hitting up Dudley’s near LES. Great people watching spot as well. It’s an Aussie bar so you’ll certainly get some good vibes here.

Feast

This spot is great just in the center of Union Square. They are offering delicious cocktails between 3pm – 8pm on the go and also let you choose between truffled or curried popcorn. This spot is great for people watching and conveniently located near a park where you can take your cocktails and relax on a bench or the grass (6 feet from others).

LouLou

New cute speakeasy spot in the heart of Chelsea that is open on 8th Avenue and offering their signature cocktails to go. Also check out their delicious French food or inquire about purchasing a wine to go with plastic cups to enjoy on the pier in the West Side Highway. A great activity to do now that it’s sunnier outside and fun to enjoy drinks outside (6 feet apart!). Their take out window is open from 4-8pm (weather permitting) and they offer delivery between 4-10pm. Really cute spot in Chelsea, highly recommend checking it out and going for the food and cocktails.

Pietro Nolita

Such a cute spot in Nolita tucked away on Elizabeth street in Soho. The owner, Pietro, is here from Milan where he has been quarantining with family in the Nolita neighborhood. Not only is Pietro offering specialty cocktails to go but he has an extensive menu with delicious appetizers, ravioli, cacio e pepe, meatballs and other delicious Italian bites. Go stop by and meet Pietro yourself. He was kind enough to give us a free tiramisu after we picked up a few cocktails. It was one of our birthdays afterall. Wear a mask and practice social distancing! Pietro is very friendly, nice and welcoming and would enjoy the company during this time. They are open from Thursday to Sunday for delivery and takeout.

Honeys Brooklyn

Honeys Brooklyn is open for delivery and pick up cocktails. Support this local business in defending the striking workers of Amazon, Whole Foods, Target and Instacart looking for respectful wages and safe working conditions. This is the perfect time to support restaurants like Honeys which feature delivery drivers who are also the owners. See their Instagram for more information or stop by in person with masks on.

Have a great rest of the week visiting these small businesses and enjoying cocktails on the go (legally). They are all working hard to put smiles on your faces while still trying to keep their businesses afloat. So take your dog for a walk this afternoon and stop by one of these spots to learn more about what they’ve been up to. Wear a mask and gloves and stand a respectable 6 feet away. Enjoy this weather while we have it and be safe!
