Just Vote: Today’s Midterm Elections

It’s November 6th, a Tuesday, and a VERY important day for Americans. It’s midterm elections! Every vote matters, and today marks two years since Trump was elected president. The presidential election in 2016 was decided by less than 100,000 people. So… EVERY VOTE COUNTS.

I VOTED!

I woke up at 5:30am, did a FlyWheel spin class, changed for work and went to a nearby school to submit my ballot. I felt proud to get all of that done before the work day started, and even more proud being around my neighbors who were up just as early to make sure their vote got submitted. Every vote matters. This is the second time I’ve had the opportunity to vote in America since becoming a U.S. citizen. I wrote a blog post after voting for the first time. IT FELT GREAT!

This election is very important because Dems need to flip 23 House seats to take the talking stick there.

Democrats are favored to take back the House, Republicans are favored to maintain control of the Senate. A vote for Democrats is a vote against Trump.
Republicans run the House and Senate… we need the democrats to have control in just one of them. Vote blue!
Obama tweeted last night:
“Tomorrow’s elections might be the most important of our lifetimes. The health care of millions is on the ballot. Making sure working families get a fair shake is on the ballot. The character of our country is on the ballot.
When you vote, you have the power to make it easier for a student to afford college, and harder for a disturbed person to shoot up a classroom. When you vote, you have the power to make sure a family keeps its health insurance.

Today you get to decide who represents you. Your health care, your rights, your taxes, and make sure YOUR voice gets heard.

Encourage passerbys to vote in today’s midterm elections.

I love this photo that the Boston Globe posted of Tim Boyden who used the fall leaves in front of his business to encourage people to vote in today’s elections. Go and vote today!

People underestimate how important each vote is because they think there are too many people living here and one little vote won’t matter. But it does. It is clear that every vote counts.

GO AND VOTE!!
