Fairytale Wedding in South Africa

My home away from Boston and NYC is South Africa – where I grew up. I miss it so much and can’t wait to go back. My cousins, friends, grandparents, are all still living in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg. It is honestly BEAUTIFUL.

Last time I was there was for my cousin, Kate Ferguson’s wedding. It was the first wedding I went to and it was just like a fairytale. Her dress was beyond stunning, the venue outside on a wine farm in Stellenbosch was the most perfect place for it. It was so traditional and perfect, and definitely inspired me to have something similar whenever that day comes.

Here are some photos of the magical day for Kate and Riaan Louw. The happiest day celebrating the beginning of Kate and Riaan’s life together.

Kate, the blushing bride, looked drop dead gorgeous. I am so thankful I got to go and celebrate her very special day. My mum and I had the best time exploring the wine farms at the Hawksmoor House in Stellenbosch.

I am hoping I’ll be going back in a year from now and get to go on a safari. It’s been years since I went to a South African animal farm to see the wild life of cheetahs, lions, apes, zebras, snakes, etc. The country is just so rich in crops, fruits, resources, and the gorgeous meadows extend for acres and acres. I actually recently found out that South Africa is the world’s largest producer of platinum, gold and chromium, which goes far to enrich the country and its economy. This resulted in a local purchasing power that’s significantly higher than what New Yorkers face, which is the most favorable factor that puts South Africa at No. 1. This makes me even prouder of my home country.

That magnificent, unforgettable scenery is definitely something I miss the most. Counting down the days to return home, back to my mother country.
